This page is dedicated to the brave men and women who proudly serve aboard the greatest
Warship in the world!

Thank you all for your service and sacrifice.
Sailor's Creed

I am a United States Sailor.

I will support and defend the
Constitution of the United States of
America and I will obey the orders of
those appointed over me.

I represent the fighting spirit of the
Navy and all who have gone before
me to defend freedom and
democracy around the world.

I proudly serve my country’s Navy
combat team with Honor, Courage
and Commitment .

I am committed to excellence and the
fair treatment of all.
Military Wife

I wear no uniform, no blues or army greens.
But I
am in the military . . .
. . . within the ranks seldom seen.

I have no rank upon my shoulders.
Orders I do not give.
But the military world. . .
. . . is the place I proudly live.

My spouse is a patriot,
taking a brave and pride-filled stand.
And the call to serve our country. . .
. . . not all can understand.

Behind the lines I see the things,
required to keep this country free.
My sailor makes the sacrifice. . .
. . . but so do our kids and me.

I'm not in the chain of command,
orders I do not get.
But my sailor is the one who does. . .
. . . this I cannot forget.

I'm not the one who fires the weapon,
who puts my life on the line.
But my job is just as tough. . .
. . . For I'm the one that's left behind.

I love the one I married.
The Navy is his life.
But I stand among the silent ranks . . .
. . . known as the Military Wife.

Gathering of Eagles is non-partisan. While each member has his or her own political beliefs, our common love and respect for America and her heroes is what brings us together. We are a non-violent, non-confrontational group. We look to defend, not attack. Our focus is guarding our memorials and their grounds. We believe that the war memorials are sacred ground; as such, we will not allow them to be desecrated, used as props for political statements, or treated with anything less than the solemn and heartfelt respect they–and the heroes they honor–deserve
Operation Hero Miles was created by Congressman C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger in cooperation with close to a dozen United States Airlines in October, 2003. When started, the program allowed troops stationed in Iraq or Afghanistan to fly home on leave for free. It now gives family members of wounded servicemen and women free plane tickets to visit their loved ones recovering at military hospitals across the country. Operation Hero Miles gives ordinary citizens an opportunity to help our troops in a very direct way that makes a real difference in their lives.

The finished home is then given to the veteran.
